Project Description

EMERY HILL, GEORGE EMERY LANE

Category Rural Gardens, Design, Construction, Maintenance

In 2005 Chatterleys were commissioned to produce a landscape master plan for a new home on an established farm.

The design responded to the needs of a young family, providing places for play and recreation as well as providing a setting for large gatherings and entertaining.

Magnificent views have been framed by low key planting , whilst formal gardens create a appropriate ambience for the main entrance. Woodland plantings and avenues of deciduous trees form an encircling protective skin against harsh winter winds and hot summer sun.

Chatterleys were contracted to build the garden commencing in July 2006. The scope of work included the bulk excavation, construction of walls, paving and water features, automated irrigation system and planting of lawns and gardens.

The construction phase was completed in early 2008, and Chatterleys were responsible for the establishment, management and maintenance phase of the garden until 2013.

Rob Reichenfeld, a former employee of Chatterleys now looks after the garden.
